T型量子細線構造

T型量子細線 (T-wire) は、右の模式図のように二つの量子井戸を直角に張り合わせることで、そのT字交点に電子を閉じ込めようという構造です。

量子井戸は非常に正確に厚み制御をすることができますので、均一な量子細線構造ができることが期待できます。

以下、英語で大変恐縮ですが、簡単に研究内容をまとめます。

1. Numerical simulation for optimizing T-shaped waveguides

I calculated optical modes of T-shaped waveguides, and optimized the structures.

As a result, total area of interaction between light and electronic states gets increased, and we can achieve lasing in a single T-wire laser structure.

2. Imaging measurement to distinguish the spectral origin

We observe spatial images of photoluminescence and lasing from a cleaved edge of T-wire laser.

As a result we can understand the origin of each PL peak and lasing.

3. Temperature dependence of the lasing property

We measured the temperature dependence of lasing property of a T-wire laser, and find that another quantum state becomes to lase for the higher temperature.
