Welcome to the Akiyama Labratory. We work on the physics of nano-structures, focusing on quantum wires and quantum wire lasers. One of our missions is also to develop optical techniques, especially spectroscopy using lasers and microscopes, and use these to advance the research of nano-structures.

We have created this homepage to provide information about what we do to other researchers and students who are interested, and to the people who support us, for example, tax payers and private or government enterprise.
We think it is important to let you know not just WHAT we are doing, but HOW and WHY we are doing it, as well as WHO is doing it. If you are interested in our laboratory, please check our homepage.
